“Black Friday” Caps Games are the Best!

The Washington Capitals have had a long-standing tradition of hosting games on the night before Thanksgiving, as they did this last Wednesday. Another, newer tradition of hosting a game at 5:00 PM on “Black Friday” is also becoming a constant “staple” of the Capitals schedule. Oh, by the way, these are the best games to attend.

Why? For one, “Black Friday” games are really well attended, meaning there aren’t the usual number of no-show seats we typically see at Capitals games prior to January. Most tickets are used by families with relatives in town, dying to find something to do for the evening.

In addition, many who attend the “Black Friday” games are suffering from a severe case of cabin fever, having spent that last 36 hours cooped up with family and relatives for Thanksgiving. This, coupled with turkey and tryptophan detox generates a need for a release, and that equates to crowd noise for the Caps.

Mix in a few questionable relatives, like the crazy uncle that likes to drink too much, or Aunt Peggy, who really shouldn’t be allowed out of the house, and you can see how Verizon Center just might be the place to be.

Have fun if you are going!!  #RockTheRed !!
