5-Years Later: Evaluation of Top Forwards Picked in 2012 Draft
Leading into the NHL Entry Draft of 2012, the consensus #1 pick was expected to be Nail Yakupov, a Russian-born player who played Juniors with the Sarnia Sting. One slogan for slumping teams in tank mode was “Fail for Nail”.

The Case For Nail Yakupov
Photo: Ian Kucerak Agence QMI That title alone is going to cause a ruckus. When I first pondered the idea of the Washington Capitals trading for Yakupov over the years I instantly shook my head with a resounding “no”.
