As NoVa Caps reported last week, Capitals forward prospect Bogdan Trineyev has wrapped-up his KHL season with Dynamo and is ready to return to Hershey. The Capitals made it official on Saturday.

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have re-assigned forward Bogdan Trineyev from Moscow Dynamo of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.
Trineyev, the Capitals’ fourth-round choice, 117th overall, in the 2020 NHL Draft, recorded 13 points (2g, 11a) in 39 games with Moscow Dynamo this season. The 6’3”, 198-pound forward ranked tied for ninth on the team in assists and tied for seventh in hits (41). In addition, Trineyev recorded two assists in five playoff games. Trineyev, 21, also appeared in two games with Dynamo St. Petersburg of the Supreme Hockey League (VHL).

Trineyev appeared in two Calder Cup playoff games with Hershey in 2022, making his AHL debut in Game 2 of the Bears’ First-Round series against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
The Voronezh, Russia native split the 2021-22 season with MHK Dynamo Moscow of the Russia Junior Hockey League (MHL) and Dynamo Moscow (KHL). Trineyev recorded 18 points (3g, 15a) in 21 games with MHK Dynamo Moscow and played in 11 games with Dynamo Moscow. In the 2020-21 season, Trineyev recorded 30 points (15g, 15a) in 33 games and nine points (3g, 4a) in 14 playoff games with MHK Dynamo Moscow, winning the MHL Championship.
Trineyev, a 6’-2”, 190lb winger, was drafted by the Capitals in the 4th round (#117 overall) of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. On May 2 Trineyev signed his first NHL contract with the Capitals and the following day signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Hershey Bears.
Trineyev then traveled from Russia to Hershey via Georgia (the Country) and Turkey (a week of travel in total) in time for a few practices. He made his AHL debut in the Bears must-win Game 2 of their first round series with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on May 8.

Trineyev’s brief trip to the US last spring included a trip to DC for a short visit with fellow Russians currently in the Capitals system. Alex Ovechkin had already returned to Russia, but Trineyev did get to spend some time with his idol before he departed.
“I saw him, but not as much as I would like. Alexander was busy with his business in the NHL playoffs. (laughs) I know that he often visits Dynamo in the summer, so I will have a chance to ask him a few questions.”

Trineyev did indeed catch-up with his idol over the summer and skated in an exhibition game with Ovechkin on August 21.

His season ended 6 days ago, so hopefully he was working his East shortly thereafter.
His did a decent job in KHL postseason, hung on and kept a starters role throughout.
