The entire sports world is rallying behind Damar Hamlin, safety for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, who suffered cardiac arrest following a hit in Monday’s game versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Ahead of their tilt against the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena, the Buffalo Sabres honored Hamlin with special shirts.
As they headed towards the locker room, players donned “Love For 3” shirts, Hamlin’s number with the Bills.

A moment of silence will be held before tonight’s Capitals/Sabres game.

NoVa Caps would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to Damar and Buffalo. We are with you!
By Della Young
My heart goes out to him and the family I was up all night crying and 🙏🙏🙏for him
My prayers go out to you and your family
I don’t mind showing a support for the player in question, but you give “moments of silence “ when someone pass’s away! I would rather see crowd chant of players name or come back soon!
Also remember Chris Pronger had cardiac event during game & continued a HOF career!
I’ll cheer this players comeback but I won’t be silent!
Agree, it felt kinda weird. It was with good intention, so moved quickly past it.
Before the National Anthem they did not ask for a moment of silence. Go back and watch it again. The PA announcer said the capital, Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills and the entire sports world send our thoughts prayers and best wishes to Damar and his family.
It was not a moment of silence
They said a moment of something.
