Lars Eller scored his seventh goal of the 2022-23 season in the final seconds of the Washington Capitals’ December 27 game against the New York Rangers to push his club’s lead to 3-0 and move past Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers in scoring among Denmark-born NHL players.

Eller scored his seventh goal of the regular season at the 19:23 mark of the middle frame on an assist from Anthony Mantha.

The goal makes Eller the second-highest scoring player from Denmark, giving him his 362nd career NHL point, and placing him only behind Frans Nielsen, who has 473.

Eller, who was drafted in the first-round (13th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues, has recorded 205 Points (86G, 119A) in 463 Games Played with the Caps.

The Vikings (Johansson, Gustafsson, and Eller) pillaged and plundered NYC tonight.

Would be nice if he could pass Franz but 111 points at this stage of his career and being a UFA and his age this summer may pose a problem moving into the #1 slot. Im thinking at 33 it will take his 3 or 4 years to pass Franz.

The third line was great tonight including NAK. Wish he would put one in. Third line logged significantly more minutes (roughly 15) than second line (roughly 11 min). Except Kuzy who also got PP time. It’s not a sexy line, but damn are they effective!
