With around 35 friends and family members in the Climate Pledge Arena crowd on Thursday night, Washington Capitals right wing T.J. Oshie dropped the gloves with the Seattle Kraken’s Yanni Gourde in the first period.
Oshie, who spoke about playing in his native Washington State for the first time prior to tonight’s game, delivered a hit that the Kraken took exception to.

The two players were allowed some room by the officials, giving the Oshie entourage in attendance at Climate Pledge Arena something to talk about, with many seeing T.J. play in-person in the NHL for the first time.

Oshie is such a gamer.
Roger that. He’s the “straw” for sure.
I’d still rather see him not fighting and in bubble wrap.
