Jack Eichel Gets Hit In Face By Puck Shot By Teammate

Vegas Golden Knights’ centerman Jack Eichel was struck under his left eye with a puck shot by a teammate on Monday night. The shot was fired by Nicolas Hague at the start of the third period of the Knights’ tilt with the Blue Jackets in Columbus.

Eichel immediately dropped to the ice after being struck with the puck. He quickly got up, tossed his helmet and left the ice after the incident.

It’s not clear exactly where the shot caught Eichel. It appears a good portion of the puck may have caught him in the eye shield.

Update: Eichel returned to the game about 10 minutes later with two cuts around his left eye. Close call.

In his second season with the Knights, Eichel has 11 goals and 15 assists in 23 games played.

The cuts look like the outline of a puck. Man he is lucky on that one.
