Hendrix Lapierre Scores 4th Of The Season, Sam Anas Records 100th Career AHL Goal As Bears Trounce Wolf Pack, 6-1

The Hershey Bears trounced the Hartford Wolf Pack, 6-1 Saturday night at the Giant Center in Hershey. Hendrix Lapierre scored his 4th goal of the season and Sam Anas scored his 100th career AHL goal in the victory. The win improves the Bears record to 9-3-2-0 (20 points) on the season.

HERSHEY BEARS LINEUP

Hunter Shepard (2-0-2, .927 sv%, 2.19 GAA) got the start in goal for the Bears. Louis Domingue (3-1-3 .919 sv%, 2.35 GAA) got the start between the pipes for the Wolf Pack. The forward lines and defensive pairs for the Bears:

Mike Vecchione –Mike Sgarbossa –  Sam Anas
Mason Morelli – Henrik Borgstrom – Garrett Pilon
Shane Gersich – Hendrix Lapierre – Henrik Rybinski
Kale Kessy – Riley Sutter – Matt Strome

Bobby Nardella – Dylan McIlrath

Scratches: Lucas Johansen (lower body injury), Ethan Frank (upper body injury), Jake Massie, Julian Napravnik.

Recalls/Re-assignments: Alex Alexeyev was recalled by the Capitals on Tuesday, November 8. Lucas Johansen was returned to Hershey on Wednesday, November 9.


FIRST PERIOD

The Bears struck first midway through the first period with a dirty goal from Mason Morelli (2) at 9:50. Henrik Borgstrom (4) had the lone assist.

The Bears stretched their lead to 2-0 when Henrik Borgstrom (3) ripped a shot from the slot at 16:50 of the first. Aaron Ness (3) and Bobby Nardella (6) had the helpers.

Garrett Pilon (2) would make it 3-0 just before time expired in the first period. Mason Morelli (9) and Logan Day (2) had the assists.

The first frame concluded with the Bears holding the 3-0 lead. Bears led in shots 9-4. There were no power plays in the first frame.


SECOND PERIOD

The Bears made it 4-0 on Sam Anas’ 100th career AHL goal at 5:50 of the second period. Vincent Iorio (4) and Gabriel Carlsson (5) had the assists.

Not much later the Bears would make it 5-0. Mike Sgarbossa dished to Mike Vecchione (4) for a power play goal and the rout was on. Mike Sgarbossa (3) and Sam Anas (6) had the helpers.

The Wolf Pack finally got on the scoreboard late in the second period. Andy Welinski (2) notched the Wolf Packs first tally at 16:23 of the second period. Alex Whelan (3) and Brandon Scanlin (3) had the assists.

The Bears made it 6-1 on Hendrix Lapierre‘s 4th goal of the season at 18:46 of the second period. Dylan McIlrath (2) and Shane Gersich (4) had the helpers.

The period would end with the Bears leading 6-1. The Bears led in shots 16-6 in the second period and 25-10 after two frames.

Garrett Pilon sustained a lower body injury with 1:13 remaining in the second period and was out for the remainder of the game.


THIRD PERIOD

The Bears and Wolf Pack skated to a scoreless draw in the final frame, as Bears held on for the 6-1 win.

The same two teams will do it again on Sunday. Puck drop is set for 4:30PM.
