The incident occurred with just a few minutes remaining in the second period. Kuznetsov drove to the net in an attempt to score before he was knocked away by Burroughs. Kuznetsov received a two-minute penalty for high-sticking on the play.
Evgeny Kuznetsov two hands Kyle Burroughs in the face. You can’t do that😬

This incident comes just six months after Kuznetsov high-sticked Noel Acciari in a post-whistle scrum during the Caps first round series against the Florida Panthers. Kuznetsov wasn’t suspended for the play, but he did receive a $5,000 fine.
Kuznetsov, 30, has four assists over four games this season, his 10th campaign in Washington.
I think they’ll sit him down (suspend) for one game. It looked like more than an accidental high stick. Likely we’ll see 24 replace him for that game. Just my guess…
I’d take that. Give McMichael a game.
Spot on. One game, give Cmac a game.
Looks like Kuzy lightened up of the swing at the end. Embellishment!
It doesn’t look to be a full whack to the face.
Something isn’t right with Kuzy. He knew that with Backy and Willy out Caps were going to depend on him even more. He’s been down this road before and overcome it. But his work this year has been very poor. He missed practice, was questionable for the game, and really lost it on this penalty. Family issues, problems back in Russia, some health issue not hockey related, I don’t know, but something just isn’t right.
