Washington Capitals goaltender Darcy Kuemper is in Las Vegas, Nevada partaking in the NHL Player North American Media Tour, after joining his new team at MedStar Capitals Iceplex for the first time earlier this week.
During his time in Vegas, Kuemper is conducting interviews, and shooting promotional and in-game content for ESPN, the league’s television partner in the United States.

Kuemper, who was the Caps’ marquee offseason addition on a five-year contract in free agency, will enter the 2022-23 season as the team’s de facto number one goaltender, providing stability and consistency in a position that has been a weakness the past two seasons.

OK. But that’s not what we’re paying him for.
I sure hope he can dial it in fairly quickly.
You realize that someone tells him to do this, right? It’s not like a hobby of his.
What I was saying is that summer playtime is over and I would rather be reading about him being at The Clinic meeting with the Caps staff, coaches, and players. Reading about weddings and shopping mall awards and the like is fine for the summer, but that time is past.
This article isn’t about weddings or mall awards. He’s skating with the team and was obligated to do press.
time is passed*
“Darcy Kuemper is in Las Vegas, Nevada partaking in the NHL Player North American Media Tour”
So he left the team to go to Vegas to participate in this circus. As I said, I would rather be reading about his working with the team in DC.
But I do thank you for correcting me on past vs passed. Never too old to learn.
All good, it’s one of my pet peeves, like “for all intensive purposes”.
My father was a senior English teacher so I have been corrected all my life. My pet peeves are lectern/podium, fewer/less, I/me, we/us, and all these automated computer editors which miss so many mistakes.
I’m just tired of reading feel good summer stories and am ready for some real hockey training camp/ preseason/ season news. Let’s get this on!
