Got $12,500? Want a Washington Capitals Stanley Cup ring? Now may be your chance to grab one of the rings presented to Washington Capitals staff in 2018. No, it’s not the model given to the players, coaches and management, but it’s probably the next best thing.
The eBay post states that the ring retails for $18,000, was appraised for $12,005 by Jostens back in 2018, and comes with a certificate of authenticity from Jostens. The size 9 ring include a “staffer” name on the side, although the eBay post eradicated the name for privacy concerns.
If you are thinking “is this a potential scam?” (and why wouldn’t you), the seller, Championship Memorabilia in Boca Raton, Florida, specializes in championship rings and has a perfect 100% rating on eBay.
There are plenty of really, really inexpensive alternatives available for $25-50, but if you want real diamonds, rubies and a sapphire, this could be a pretty cool addition to your memorabilia collection.
The seller states the ring is ultra rare, for whatever that’s worth. I’m assuming not many “staffers” have decided to part ways with their rings just four years later. But who knows, maybe someone has encountered tough financial times, or was fired? Hmmmm.

Somebody loan me 12-5
Still not sold. I need 12.5!
I don’t understand the “privacy concerns.” That is part of the ring and could affect its value. Would they sell autographed pucks or jerseys and not reveal who autographed them?
What is to stop the buyer from calling the DC media in and showing it off identifying the staffer?
I think it’s common courtesy, posting on a website. If you email or call them and act as a serious buyer I’m sure they’d tell you name on the side.
LMAO…..its a STAFFER not a player. Therefore the name inside doesnt increase the value at all. Hence the difference in price not only because of the material but the person who had the ring. Unless you are into paying a lot of a ring and just want a ring that says Saps and Stanley Cup you can pick those up for $25 many places.
I wonder if it’s possible to have Jostens change the name.
Like most things name will come out eventually! If it was current staff member & was encountering “hard times” one would hope team owner or co-workers would think enough of them to try & help raise money so they wouldn’t have to part with this Prize!!
Many players, coach’s & other management sometimes work many years to get Cup ring & never come close would be shame for somebody to sell just to “get rid of & make space” @ home!!
Agree, just a matter of time.
