The HC Spartak Sled Hockey team had their “End of the Season” event on Monday. The event included plenty of awards, gifts and fun for the sled hockey team, and included three (huge) surprise guests: long-time NHL stars, Alex Ovechkin, Ilya Kovalchuk, and Alexander Radulov.
Blogger Alexey Plyukhin described the event on Instagram and showed a picture of himself with Ovechkin.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! This was mega unexpected! Alexander Ovechkin, Ilya Kovalchuk, and Alexander Radulov came to congratulate the sled hockey players on the end of their season. The guys received gifts with the symbols of Spartak and took a group photo as a keepsake. Well, I managed to ask a couple of questions to each of the star players. Thank you very much for your communication! Well, what came of it, wait in my new issue of ‘Extra Time’.”
He plans to write about this event in the magazine “Extra Time”.
Alexey Plyukhin posed with Ovechkin, as well as Kovalchuk and Radulov.
Kovalchuk last played professional hockey with Avangard during the 2020-21 season, where they won the Gagarin Cup. His last year with the NHL was 2019-20 when he played with the Montreal Canadiens and the Washington Capitals. During 2021-22, he served as General Manager for the Russia Olympic team. Kovalchuk appeared earlier during the sled hockey festival.
Radulov played with the Dallas Stars during 2021-22, but announced today, he has signed a two-year contract with Ak Bars in the KHL.
