Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson scored the first goal of the Capitals first round series with the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night. Unfortunately, he would skate just three shifts for a total of 1:31 of ice time before leaving the game with a lower-body injury.
Capitals’ head coach Peter Laviolette provided a brief update on Wilson’s status following the team’s optional skate on Wednesday. He said that Wilson is getting treatment today and will be a game-time decision for game 2 on Thursday night.

The Capitals face the Panthers in game 2 of their first-round series Thursday night at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida.
Ohhh! What good news on both players! I really hope Wilson will tough it out, even if they have to cut his minutes a little. He is very important to this team and in this kind of series.
That’s about as good a news we could expect. We need all our horses for this one.
Johnny is nails. Hopefully Willy will be ok. We need him.
