The Washington Capitals’ 6-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes at Capital One Arena on Monday night was one that the team and the home crowd would like to forget and look ahead to the schedule ahead. While the night was quiet offensively for the Caps, right wing Tom Wilson attempted to spark his team in the third period, dropping the gloves with Carolina’s Brendan Smith.
With just under 11 minutes left in the final frame, and having already served a two-minute minor for Unsportsmanlike Conduct for attempting to drop the gloves with Smith earlier in the period, Wilson and the former New York Ranger decided to tango with the ‘Canes already leading 5-1. In short, the tilt was largely one-sided.
While a member of the Hurricanes, Smith’s history with Wilson is well noted, particularly as it relates to last season’s games against the Caps as a member of the New York Rangers. Wilson finished the night having scored the Capitals’ only goal, and racking up four hits and seven penalty minutes in 13:49 of ice time.

Seems to skip over the “Caps got absolutely smoked by a superior team” aspect of the game. Tom Wilson is scum, as are his absolutely pathetic fans.
Caps were 3-1 vs. Canes this season, dumbass.
that “superior team” is also 1-2-1 against them this season. They must be so superior!
Superior team that is 1-2-1 verse the Caps this season??? In a world these days in which people seem to forget definitions of words…bully, racist and now superior…
