According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the 2022 NHL Awards will take place in between Games 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup Final on the off-day. The host city for those games will be home to the event.
The show will be for one hour.
Hotels across Las Vegas, Nevada took turns hosting the event yearly until COVID-19 forced the NHL to call off the award show each of the past two times.
The Lady Byng (most gentlemanly), Leadership, King Clancy (most charitable), Jack Adams (best coach), Jim Gregory (best GM), Selke (best defensive forward), Bill Masterton (best comeback), Vezina (best goalie), Norris (best defenseman), Calder (best rookie), Ted Lindsay (MVP voted by the NHLPA), and Hart (MVP) Trophy winners will be announced that night.
This is expected to be a one-off event. The bigger of the awards will be presented, with those nominees in attendance. The NHL’s plan is to return to a full awards show in Las Vegas.
