Per NHL/NHLPA’s new COVID protocols, today was the last day all players (including asymptomatic fully vaccinated players) needed to be tested.
Ovechkin was selected as the Metropolitan Division captain for the All-Star Game. A replacement has yet to be named. Center Evgeny Kuznetsov will be the lone representative from the Capitals.
