The Washington Capitals announced prior to their game against the Boston Bruins on Thursday (7 PM ET, ESPN+, Hulu) that defenseman Michal Kempny and left-wing Axel Jonsson-Fjallby have both been recalled from the taxi squad but center Michael Sgarbossa has been assigned to the taxi squad.
In addition, right-wing T.J. Oshie has been placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury and will be eligible to return against the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday. Oshie has missed the past two games.

Jonsson-Fjallby, who has 10 goals and 21 points in 26 AHL games and one assist in eight NHL games this season, is expected to skate on a line with centers Lars Eller and Connor McMichael vs. the Bruins while right-wing Daniel Sprong will be a healthy scratch.
Sgarbossa has two goals and four points in 10 NHL games this season in addition to earning eight goals and 14 points in 15 AHL games. The 29-year-old cleared waivers on December 29 to go to the taxi squad.
Kempny, 31, has recorded seven assists in 24 AHL games and has one assist in three NHL games.
