Sheary Madness: Capitals’ Conor Sheary Nets Two Goals in First Period vs. Bruins

Washington Capitals forward Conor Sheary scored two goals in the first period of Monday’s clash against the Boston Bruins at Capital One Arena. He is now nine points shy of 200 career points.

He opened the scoring at the 3:02 mark, giving the Capitals an early 1-0 lead. Center Nic Dowd and forward Garnet Hathaway assisted.

It marked Sheary’s ninth goal. Dowd’s tally was his fifth assist of the season and third primary assist.

His second came at the 12:32 mark to extend Washington’s lead 2-0.

With his tenth goal thus far, Sheary is now nine points shy of 200 career points. Additionally, this is the seventh time this season a Capital has scored twice in a period.
