Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson scored his eighth goal thus far Sunday afternoon as the team hosted the New Jersey Devils at Capital One Arena. It also marked the Capitals’ first four-on-four goal of the season.

After former Capitals defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler was busted for tripping and center Lars Eller was called for slashing, the teams went four-on-four for a bit.

Carlson cut the Devils’ lead, 2-1, with less than fifty seconds remaining in the first period. Center Michael Sgarbossa and defenseman Dmitry Orlov assisted.

Carlson has six points (2g, 4a) in his last three games. It is the Capitals’ first four-on-four goal of the season.

Additionally, since the goal was scored in the last minute of the period, you can enjoy a 6 piece Chicken McNuggets with a minimum $1 purchase on Monday through the app.
