Monumental Sports and Entertainment announced on Monday that Capital One Arena will reinstate their mask mandate just under a month after removing it.
Face masks that cover both the nose and mouth are required to be worn once you exit your vehicle or public transportation and while inside Capital One Arena at all times except while actively eating or drinking in your designated seat location or suite. All persons age 2 years and older must wear a face covering. Neck gaiters, face masks with valves or vents, costume masks, and bandanas are not acceptable face coverings. Face shields may not be worn in place of a face mask, though they may be worn in addition to a face mask. For guests sitting on the arena floor during Wizards games, masks must be worn at all times while in your seats, with no exceptions.
MSE continues to monitor the latest regarding the COVID-19 virus and variants and remains in close contact with local and federal health officials. Fans are encouraged to visit monumentalsports.com and follow MSE on social media for any updated information on health and safety protocols for Capital One Arena events.
Guests will be notified about specific protocols required to attend games/events in-person at the time of purchasing tickets, or will receive updated information from the event promoter if requirements evolve. Each game ticket will be provided in a digital format and will also contain standard “ticket-back” terms, including health and safety requirements (to which each patron attending an event at Capital One Arena shall be subject).
NBA COVID-19 Protocols
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the NBA has set forth protocols for certain seating locations for the start of the 2021-22 season. While these protocols will be in place for preseason and the start of the regular season, they remain subject to change as public health guidance and conditions evolve. You will be notified via email if your seat is located within close proximity to the court – please read the following information carefully.
Per NBA protocols, any person aged two or older seated within 15 feet of the court or player benches must provide one of the following:
1. Proof of vaccination: we recommend using the CLEAR Health Pass App for quick and easy verification upon arrival at Capital One Arena. If you are unable to utilize CLEAR, a picture or hard copy of your vaccination card along with photo ID will suffice.
OR
2. Proof of negative COVID-19 test result within two (2) days of the game for a PCR test or on the day of the game for a Rapid test: we recommend uploading your test results through the CLEAR Health Pass App. If you are unable to utilize CLEAR, a digital or physical copy of your test results along with photo ID will suffice.
Approved COVID-19 Tests
PCR (molecular) test: must be sampled within two (2) days of game day
Rapid (antigen) test: must be sampled on the day of the game
We ask you to carefully read and review the information below before attending an event at Capital One Arena.
And a friendly reminder: if you are feeling sick or experiencing any symptoms, we kindly ask that you stay home. Thanks for doing your part to keep us all safe.
