A Snipe From Sprong and An Apple From Eller: Daniel Sprong Scores On A Wicked Wrist Shot For His Fourth Goal of the Season, Lars Eller Extends Points Streak

After taking an early second period, 1-0 lead on Alex Ovechkin’s record-tying power play goal, the Washington Capitals found themselves down 3-1 as the second period in their Wednesday night tilt against the Chicago Blackhawks suddenly went south. However a late goal from forward Daniel Sprong put the visitors within one, and its execution couldn’t have been more of a beauty.

With the Caps down 3-1, Sprong took a pass from Center Lars Eller behind the net and before pirouetting towards the right dot and firing a wicked wrist shot past Chicago netminder Marc-Andre Fleury for his fourth goal of the 2021-22 season.

The goal marked Sprong’s second point (one goal, one assist) in his past three games and gives him his eighth point in 25 Games Played this season.

Eller extended his current Points streak to four games with his ninth assist of the season, during which time he has registered four points.

The second frame ended with the ‘Hawks leading the Capitals 3-2 with 20 minutes of regulation time left to play.
