After taking an early second period, 1-0 lead on Alex Ovechkin’s record-tying power play goal, the Washington Capitals found themselves down 3-1 as the second period in their Wednesday night tilt against the Chicago Blackhawks suddenly went south. However a late goal from forward Daniel Sprong put the visitors within one, and its execution couldn’t have been more of a beauty.
With the Caps down 3-1, Sprong took a pass from Center Lars Eller behind the net and before pirouetting towards the right dot and firing a wicked wrist shot past Chicago netminder Marc-Andre Fleury for his fourth goal of the 2021-22 season.
