Washington Capitals defenseman Martin Fehervary left Friday’s game with an apparent upper-body injury after a hit from Pittsburgh Penguins forward Brock McGinn.

The incident occurred roughly midway through the second period when Fehervary got clipped by McGinn, who scored moments later to extend the Penguins’ lead 2-0.

Fehervary headed immediately to the locker room and would not return for the remainder of the period. There was no penalty on the play.

ESPN reported at the start of the third period that Fehervary is in concussion protocol.

The Capitals are down 3-0 after two periods.

More to come.

So is the league going to review this play for discipline? They missed the last one where Crosby flung Fehevary into the end boards in that 6-1 beat down game.
