With the Capitals having already lost defenseman Martin Fehervary to injury during their Wednesday night loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, and a number of players already out due to health-related issues, the team received another blow when right wing Tom Wilson left the game with an upper-body injury.

It was unclear what the exact play was that forced Wilson out of the contest at the time he became unavailable, however the Capitals announced that he would not return to the game due to an upper-body injury.

In the second period, Wilson crashed into Pens netminder Tristan Jarry, something Head Coach Peter Laviolette confirmed in his post-game press conference was the cause of his injury, while also stating that both Wilson and Fehervary were being evaluated.

Wilson played a total of 15:16 in the game, finishing with a minus-1 rating and six hits against Pittsburgh before departing.

The Capitals will depart for Buffalo tonight in advance of their tilt with the Sabres on Saturday night.
