Since seeing a regular role open up in the Washington Capitals lineup, forward Aliaksei Protas has become a solid contributor on a nightly basis for Head Coach Peter Laviolette. During the Capitals’ Saturday night tilt against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the 2019 third-round pick continued his productive stretch.
Protas scored his second career goal and second goal of the 2021-22 season at the 4:33 mark of the first period, assisted by defenseman Justin Schultz.

The goal gave Protas five points in 14 Games Played this season, and fifth in his last eight games played (two goals, three assists).

Through two periods of play, Protas had played 6:12 and recorded three shots on goal. Entering play against Columbus, Protas had averaged 13:11 of ice time a night.
