The NHL announced on Tuesday that Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour has been fined $25,000 for inappropriate conduct during Sunday’s 4-2 loss to the Washington Capitals.
Brind’Amour tossed a complete fit in the late stages of Sunday’s game.

Brind’Amour’s fit was induced by a slashing call late in the third period that gave the Capitals a 5-on-3 man-advantage. The slashing actually broke Capitals’ forward Aliaksei Protas’ stick.
He said after the game that it was a shame the game ended the way it did, saying the referees “took it out of our hands.”
The NHL previously fined Brind’Amour $25,000 for his postgame comments criticizing officiating in the Hurricanes’ 4-3 double-overtime loss to the Boston Bruins in 2020. In addition, the league also announced a conditional fine of $25,000 to be collected in the event of any further transgressions resulting in league discipline for the next calendar year.

The fine money goes to the NHL Foundation.

can they fine him another $25K for what he did to wilson a couple preseasons ago? this sort of horrifying act of verbal abuse towards players, refs, and the league threatens the image and future of the league. he needs to be banned from the NHL.
He was not upset about the penalty, he was upset that the play was offside by a foot and never called. Which means there wouldn’t have been a slash had the officials done their job.
