After shutting out the Detroit Red Wings in their last game just one night ago, the Washington Capitals defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 on Friday night. Fourth-line forward Garnet Hathaway scored a pair of goals in the effort.
Hathaway’s first goal of the game and his first of the 2021-22 season came just 24 seconds into the second period, on assists from Axel Jonsson-Fjallby and Lars Eller; Jonsson-Fjallby picked up his first NHL point on the tally.

Hathaway’s second goal of the contest came seven minutes later at the 7:23 mark, this time with Eller and Alex Ovechkin being credited with the helpers on Hathaway’s second marker.

Hathaway’s second goal gave him his third multi-goal game and second since joining the Caps.
Garnet Hathaway scored his second goal of the game to give the Caps a 3-1 lead. That marks Hathaway’s third career multi-goal game and his second with the Capitals (Dec. 3 at San Jose, 2019).

Hathaway now has two goals in 14 games played this season.
