It’s been a year of first for the NHL’s 32nd team. First game, first goal, first home game, and now, thanks to Kraken forward Jordan Eberle, the franchises first ever first hat trick.
The historic marker came at 8:06 of the third period in Thursday night’s tilt against the Buffalo Sabres in Seattle. Dustin Tokarski was the netminder for Buffalo and answer to future trivia questions. John Forslund had the call.

It took a while, but eventually the hats came raining down as the Kraken’s goal song, “Lithium” by Nirvana, echoed throughout Climate Pledge Arena. (“I like it, I’m not gonna crack Let’s go Kraken”)

NHL Hockey is alive and well in the Pacific Northwest. The Kraken would win the contest, 5-2.
