We have our first Washington Capitals’ hat trick of the 2021-22 season! Forward T.J. Oshie scored three goals during the team’s clash against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre Monday night, marking the fifth of his career.

His first goal came at the 6:26 mark of the first period, tying the game 1-1.

He would pot his second of the night at the 11:10 mark, giving the Capitals a 2-1 lead.

Goal number three would come with a few seconds left in the second period. He gave the Capitals a 6-4 lead as hats rained down on the ice.

As mentioned, this is Oshie’s fifth career hat trick—the last being on May 5 last season in the emotional win over the New York Rangers.

Tonight marked Oshie’s 34th career multi-goal game. He now has four goals on the season, which is tied with center Evgeny Kuznetsov for second on the Capitals.
