Thats a lot of milestones for one game, but something we’re getting used to as we watch Ovechkin climb the ranks of hockey’s greatest of all time.
Ovechkin’s shorthanded goal in the #Caps‘ opener last night was his first shorty since 1/3/09, also vs. NYR here in DC. Only one player in NHL history has gone longer between shorties, Hall of Fame d-man Doug Harvey, who went 13 years and 20 days between 1/22/1949 and 2/11/1962.
