Capitals Assign Six Players To AHL Hershey


The Washington Capitals announced on Tuesday the assignment of six more players to the Hershey Bears. The cuts reduce the Capitals training camp roster to 27.

The following players have been assigned to Hershey: Alex Alexeyev, Tobias Geisser, Brian Pinho (requires waivers), Aliaksei Protas, Mike Sgarbossa (requires waivers) and Mike Vecchione (requires waivers).

The Capitals will need to be down to a maximum of 23 players by 5:00 PM the day before opening night.

The Capitals are back on the ice on Wednesday when they visit the Bruins in Boston. They will wrap-up their preseason schedule on Friday when they host the Flyers at Capital One Arena.

    Cant wait for 2 more years when Hagelins contract is done. Yes I know he is good on the PK but sorry we need to get out younger players into the lineup and not lose them vis waivers. Schultz and Kempny gone after this season adn more younger players can fill those slots unless both can be traded…LMAO! NO one taking those salaries. waiting to see if Mantha is not only worth the salary but the price we paid to get him. Yes getting rid of Panik was good but losing Vrana and the picks hurt. See where Detroit also now has a player we once thought was a prize Barber.
