We are now just 30 days away from the start of the Washington Capitals 2021-22 season. The team will begin their preseason activities with a prospect development camp, which begins this Saturday (9/18) and runs thru the start of Capitals training camp, which begins next Tuesday (9/22).
Oddsmakers have been busy preparing all sorts of futures odds in advance of the start of the season, including odds for each team to win their respective divisions, and odds to win their respective conferences.
The Capitals are currently +500 to win the Metropolitan Division, tied with the New York Rangers. The Carolina Hurricanes have the best odds to win the Metropolitan Division at +375, followed by the Pittsburgh Penguins at +400 and the New York Islanders at +425. The Islanders and Capitals are good bets here.
The Capitals are tied for 8th best odds at +1200 to win the Eastern Conference, once again tied with the New York Rangers. The Tampa Bay Lightning are once again favorites to win the Eastern Conference at +350. The safe money play is on the Lightning, but good odds bet would be the Islanders here.
The Capitals and Rangers have been even in almost all odds generated by the oddsmakers so far this offseason. The two teams will begin their 2021-22 campaign with a showdown at Capital One Arena on Wednesday, October 13. Buckle up.

Line is set by bettors. Bettors usually lose. Which means Carolina wont win the division.
