The Washington Capitals selected left-handed defenseman Joaquim Lemay in the fourth round (#119 overall) of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Lemay is currently playing for the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the BCHL.

ELITE PROSPECTS
The St. Pierre-les-Becquets, Quebec native ranked second among Silverback defensemaen in points and tied for second among BCHL rookie defensemen in assists this past season. He has committed to University of Omaha-Nebraska next season.
Lemay tallied 10 points in 15 games in his rookie BCHL season and was named the Silverbacks Most Dedicated Player. Lemay was ranked 6th amongst all rookie defensemen in the BCHL. Lemay is the first player selected directly from the BCHL in the NHL Draft this year.
Lemay’s idol growing up was Alex Ovechkin.
