Damien Riat Says He Will Return To Hershey For One More Season

Washington Capitals prospect Damien Riat has confirmed that he will be back in North America next season with the goal of this time trying to carve out a place with the Capitals. He has given himself two years to achieve the goal. 

The Genevan is now back in Switzerland, on vacation, after his first experience in North America and in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Hershey Bears. He will return to Washington in September. The player recently communicated his plans to the Tribune de Genève.


“It’s a rumor, I didn’t get this info from my agent. My goal is to continue my experience and show what I’m worth in Washington even though it’s tough for the kids to play for the Capitals right now. For me, who gave myself two years to reach NHL , it’s a big challenge that I’m ready to take on.”

    He really should rethink his goal of make the Caps next year. Not much room and their are others ahead of him. He will have a better shot in 2023 as the Caps will have more room. If not, does he just go back and play in Swiss?
