Head coach Peter Laviolette announced after the Washington Capitals‘ optional practice on Tuesday that goaltender Ilya Samsonov and center Evgeny Kuznetsov, who each came off of the NHL’s COVID-19 list and started skating over the weekenda fter two weeks on it, will travel with the team to Boston. Both skated with the team on Tuesday.
Laviolette also said that the four players (forward Brett Leason, center Connor McMichael, and defensemen Paul LaDue and Alexander Alexeyev) who were recalled from the AHL’s Hershey Bears on Tuesday will not travel with the team. None skated with the main group on Tuesday.
