The Vegas bookmakers have released their early lines for the upcoming first round of the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Capitals moneyline opened at +130, a sizable underdog to the Boston Bruins, who opened at -150.

The moneyline odds mean you would win $130 if you bet $100 on the Capitals. You would need to place $150 to win $100 if you bet on the Bruins.

While Vegas sees the Capitals as underdogs, they are nowhere near the biggest underdogs in round one. Those honors go to the Montreal Canadiens (+250), Nashville Predators (+195) and Winnipeg Jets (+160).

The Toronto Maple Leafs (-300), Carolina Hurricanes (-235) and Edmonton Oilers (-180) are the favorites in the first round.

Odds for the two series in the West Division have yet to be set because the series have not been determined as of yet.

That Toronto line is almost too much to take a shot at. They typically implode in the postseason.
