Proud of Dowd: Capitals’ Nic Dowd Nets Ninth Goal of the Season, New Career-High

Washington Capitals center Nic Dowd scored his ninth goal of the season during Saturday’s game against the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum. He set a new career-high in goals.

The tally came at 12:21 of the second period, giving the Capitals a 3-2 lead. Defensemen Trever van Riemsdyk and Brenden Dillon assisted.

As mentioned, the goal established a new career-high.

Additionally, van Riemsdyk picked up his first assist of the season, and Dillon recorded his fourteenth helper thus far.

This is the second goal of the night from the fourth line. Forward Garnet Hathaway opened the scoring in the first period.
