It’s Oshie’s seventh goal of the season and fifth point in his last six games (2g, 3a). Kuznetsov picked up the primary assist on the goal, which is his fourth assist in his last five games.
Ovechkin’s secondary assist marked his 1,300th career point. He becomes the 35th player in NHL history and the second active player to reach the 1,300-point milestone.
The Great Eight would later score his 12th goal of the season and No. 718 of his career a few minutes later, which now gives him 1,301 career points, and moves Ovechkin into sixth place on the NHL’s all-time goals list.
