The Washington Capitals family got a little bigger over the weekend. Forward Conor Sheary and wife Jordan welcomed their first child and girl, Mila, on Saturday.

On Monday, Sheary shared a photo of his newborn daughter on Instagram.

Officially a #girldad and couldn’t be happier about it! Mom was a rockstar and gave us a perfect little daughter. We love you, Mila!

The couple announced in August they were expecting. Sheary left during the third period in the 5-3 loss to the Boston Bruins on February 1. He was out with a lower-body injury and made his return to the lineup on Sunday in the 7-4 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Capitals congratulated the couple on the birth of Mila.
