Capitals defensive prospect Alexander Alexeyev, who was loaned to the KHL team Salavat Yulaev ufa, won the KHL ‘Rookie of the Week’ award for this past week. It is the third time he won the award.
For the week, he recorded two points (one goal and one assist). He posted no negative ratings and ended up the week +3. He recorded six hits, blocked five shots, and averaged 18:44 in ice time.

In the game against Barys, Salavat Yulaev had fallen behind 2-0 during the first period, But scored two goals during the third period to tie the game and send it to Overtime where Alexeyev potted the game winner.
He spoke after the game, saying, “All the away games were tough. Today was a little crumpled match – Barys ran right away, but we did not give up and in the third period we snatched the game.”
