Capitals Recall Brian Pinho From Taxi Squad

The Washington Capitals announced on Friday afternoon that they have recalled forward Brian Pinho from the team’s taxi squad prior to their game against the Buffalo Sabres at Capital One Arena (7 PM ET, NBC Sports Washington).

He will likely serve as the fourth-line center on Friday after he skated in that spot at the team’s morning skate prior to their game.

Here is the Capitals projected lineup vs. the Sabres. Captain Alex Ovechkin and center Evgeny Kuznetsov are among the four Capitals players that are on COVID-19 protocol and will not play on Friday.

The 25-year-old recorded 20 goals and 37 points in 62 games with the AHL’s Hershey Bears last season. The Capitals picked Pinho 174th overall in the 2013 NHL Draft.
