Washington Capitals prospect Connor McMichael officially completed his mandatory seven-day quarantine this past weekend. As a result he was able to join the team on Thursday, the Capitals first home practice since returning from their four-game road trip.

McMichael was added to the team’s taxi squad, which means he can practice and workout with the team, but does not count against the Capitals salary cap. He would need to be officially recalled to the active roster in order to play in a game.
Anderson was added to the Capitals roster in the absence of Ilya Samsonov, who was added to the league’s COVID-19-absences list on Wednesday.
McMichael finished his work with Team Canada on January 5th and reported to Washington a week later. Like all players who traveled internationally to Washington, he was required to quarantine for seven days and pass four consecutive tests for the COVID-19 virus.
