Gina Carlson: “The Boys And I Are Going To Miss You More Than You Know”

We are less than 48 hours away from puck drop, signaling a new season for the Washington Capitals. Although excitement is in the air, time away from family can always be tough for players. Gina Carlson, wife of defenseman John Carlson, took to Instagram to share her love through a sweet video of family moments before the Capitals depart to Buffalo for their season opener against the Sabres on Thursday.

Gina created a video compilation of memories and moments — from John playing with sons Luca and Rudy throughout the year to the birth of their third son, Sawyer, on November 30.

With the acoustic version of Chris Lane’s Big, Big Plans playing in the video, Gina wrote:

I love you so much @jc7474 my heart has been 😭 all day knowing tomorrow you’re back to work ✈️ through the devastation of this pandemic, we can all say having extra time with our family has been priceless. The boys and I are going to miss you more than you know (a week seems like forever right now 😩) hockey should be easy after endless hours with these crazies 🐒 🐒 🐒!!! We have these memories forever 🤍🤍🤍
