Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin took part in Friday’s Game of Legends, an all-star game dedicated to the opening of the 10th season of the Night Hockey League in Moscow.
The participants in the game were hockey players who have been longtime supporters of the league included Alex Ovechkin, Alexey Kasatonov (pictured above), Alexander Yakushev, Pavel Bure, Vyacheslav Fetisov, Valery Kamensky , Vladimir Myshkin, Alexander Kozhevnikov, Andrey Kovalenko and others.
The game included an iconic hook-up when Pavel Bure assisted on one of Alex Ovechkin’s goals in the game.
The chairman of the board of trustees of the league, the president of the Norilsk Nickel company Vladimir Potanin, the first vice-president of the FHR Roman Rotenberg, and the musician Igor Butman also took to the ice.

The game ended with a score of 17:12 in favor of the Reds, led by Alexander Yakushev and Pavel Bure who each scored 5 goals, while Vladimir Potanin and Alexander Ovechkin scored hat-tricks.
Rotenberg (4) and KHL President Alexey Morozov (3) were the best snipers for the White team.
Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the participants and guests of the opening of the 10th season of the Night Hockey League games.

The Night Hockey League is a Russian amateur sports organization established in December 2011 at the initiative of Putin.
According to the league’s website, The Night Hockey League was created in 2011 at the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and famous hockey players with the aim of developing and popularizing mass amateur hockey, promoting a healthy lifestyle and creating conditions for organizing sports leisure for the population.
