Washington Capitals forward prospect Axle Jonsson-Fjallby scored his third goal of the season Wednesday night to help Vasterviks IK beat Vasby, 3-2. Jonsson-Fjallby also recorded an assist in the contest.
The goal came at 8:14 of the second period, stretching Vasterviks’ lead to 2-0. Jonsson-Fjallby, #44, would clean-up the loose change by knocking home a left-side rebound for the score.

Vasterviks would give up two goals in the third period, sending the game into overtime. Jonathan Davidsson would win it for Vasterviks 1:10 into the extra frame.
Jonsson-Fjallby has three goals and eight assists in 16 games played so far this season. He had gone nearly a full month without a score before Wednesday night’s tally. Axel’s other two goals this season came on October 20 against Mora. Again, Vasterviks is in the second-tier HockeyAllsvenskan of the Swedish league.

The Capitals announced on September 14 that they had loaned left wing Jonsson-Fjallby to Vastervik IK of the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan League to begin the 2020-21 season. It is expected that the Capitals will recall Jonsson-Fjallby to North America in time for the start of the Capitals’ 2020-21 training camp.
