Former Capital Eric Fehr Scores Four, Capitals Prospect Damien Riat Scores in Geneve-Servette Win

Former Washington Capital Eric Fehr and current Capitals’ prospect Damien Riat did all the scoring in the Geneve-Servette Eagles 5-3 victory over SC Bern on Tuesday night. Fehr scored four goals while Riat scored an additional goal.

Fehr scored his first goal on a power play just twelve minutes into the first period. The goal was assisted by another former Capital, Daniel Winnik.

Feher added his second goal of the game early in the second period to stake Geneve-Servette to a 2-0 lead.

Capitals prospect Damien Riat added his second goal of the season with less than five minutes to go in the second period, as the Eagles now led 3-0, the score going into the second intermission. Riat’s goal was a beauty:

The third period was quiet for the first 10 minutes, but action after that was fast and furious. Alain Berger of SC Bern scored just after the 10 minute mark, narrowing the Eagles lead to 3-1.

But with less than five minutes to go, Fehr notched two tallies in less than a minute, increasing the Eagles’ lead to 5-1. Fehr now had four goals. Damien Riat and Daniel Winnik had the assists on Fehr’s 4th goal.

SC Bern would score two more goals before the game ended. The final score was 5-3 in favor of the Geneve-Servette Eagles.

This was Geneve-Servette’s second win of the week.

Eric Fehr was awarded the man of the match following the game.

Geneve-Servette’s next game is scheduled for Friday October 30 against Lausanne.  They were supposed to play Thursday in Biel but the game was cancelled due to players on that team having COVID-19.
