The Washington Capitals announced on Sunday that they have signed unrestricted free agent forward Daniel Carr to a one-year, two-way contract, which will carry a cap hit of $700,000.

In 11 games with the Nashville Predators in 2019-20, the 28-year-old forward recorded one goal and a -5 rating. In 47 games with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals, Carr posted 23 goals, 50 points, and a +19 rating after a 70-point season in 2018-19.
In 111 career NHL games with the Predators, Montreal Canadiens, and Vegas Golden Knights, Carr has tallied 16 goals, 36 points, and an even rating.

The Hockey Club Lugano announces that it has reached an agreement with the NHL franchise of the Washington Capitals for the loan of the player Daniel Carr .
The 28-year-old Canadian striker, free agent in his first phase with the colors of HCL, signed a contract with the club from the US capital overnight.
The loan to the HCL provides the possibility for Washington to recall Carr for the start of the NHL championship, 2020/21 season. Carr has played four National League games up to now (2 goals, 1 assist) with the black and white jersey (Photo Ti-Press, S. Golay).
Daniel Carr was born in Sherwood Park (Alberta), near Edmonton, on November 1, 1991. Between 2010 and 2014 he was one of the best players ever in the North American University League (NCAA) with the Union College colors with a loot of 160 games and 157 points and the conquest of two championships with a leading role.
Subsequently between 2014 and 2020 he played a total of 111 games (16 goals, 20 assists, 36 points) in the NHL with the jerseys of the Montreal Canadiens , the Vegas Golden Knights and the Nashville Predators and 253 games (109 goals, 114 assists, 223 points) in AHL with the uniforms of the Hamilton Bulldogs, St. John’s Caps, Laval Rocket, Chicago Wolves and the Milwaukee Admirals last season (47 games, 23 goals, 27 assists, 50 points). In the 2018/19 championship he was named best MVP player of the AHL.

The Washington Capitals have signed Daniel Carr to a one-year, two-way contract ($700,000/$415,000), senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today. Carr is currently playing for HC Lugano of the Swiss Hockey League (SHL) and will remain with the team until the commencement of the Capitals’ 2020-21 training camp.
Carr, 28, played in 11 games with the Nashville Predators last season, scoring one goal. In addition, he recorded 50 points (23g, 27a) in 47 games with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL) , tying for 10th in the AHL in points. The 6’0″, 191-pound forward led the Admirals in goals – despite ranking seventh on the team in power play goals (4) – and tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (6).
In 238 career AHL games with the Hamilton Bulldogs, the St. John’s IceCaps, the Laval Rocket, the Chicago Wolves and Milwaukee, Carr has 211 points (104g, 107a).
Carr has appeared in at least six NHL games in each of the last five seasons between the Montreal Canadiens, the Vegas Golden Knights and Nashville. Carr recorded a career high 16 points (6g, 10a) in 38 games with the Canadiens in the 2017-18 season. In 111 career NHL games, Carr has 36 points (16g, 20a).
With HC Lugano in the SHL this season, Carr has three points (2g, 1a) in four games.
