Two days after partying down at his extravagant 35th birthday party, Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin and wife Nastya returned to the Moscow social circuit on Saturday evening, this time for the benefit of charity. The event was attended by numerous sports superstars including NHL’ers Evgeni Malkin and Ilya Kovalchuk.
The event, which benefited the Kirilenko Children’s Foundation, was held at the Moscow Four Seasons. It included an auction of sports items and memorabilia to benefit the charity, which builds basketball courts for children in Russia.
The Capitals’ Captain donated a framed Capitals jersey for the auction.
One of the other items up for bid was an autographed shoe from Shaquille O’Neal. Ovi and his wife were amazed by the size 23 sneaker.
The event sponsor, former NBA star Andrey Kirilenko, posted a message on his Instagram account following the event, thanking everyone who participated in the event.
“Another charity auction of the Kirilenko for Children Foundation took place yesterday. I want to thank everyone who came and contributed, as well as all those who managed to participate in the online auction. We continue to build children’s basketball courts, develop children’s basketball and do a great good all together. Special thanks to @skazka_by_nata 🌺 and partners @boucheron for the luxurious lot provided for the lovely flowers on the tables. It was, as always, super! We have great friends, I’m already looking forward to next year #Kirilenkochildren #basketball”
Ovi’s wife Nastya posted a video outside of the hotel following the event, which was located near Red Square in Moscow. Wait for it…
