Damien Riat Records Goal, Two Assists In Second Tune-Up Game For Geneve-Servette

Washington Capitals forward prospect Damien Riat and Genève-Servette traveled to Valais today to play their second preseason game ahead of the 2020-21 season. Riat is currently on loan to the Swiss League team until the AHL and Hershey Bears begin their 2020-21 season, which is presently scheduled for the first week of December.

Damien Riat was on the right side of the second line, opposite brother Arnaud, in today’s second preseason game. Damien was on the left side of the second line (2LW) in the team’s first exhibition game on August 28. He was also donning an ‘A’ for today’s game.

Riat’s goal came with 7:19 remaining in the opening frame to give Geneve-Servette an early 2-0 lead. The score came on a blast from the top of the left circle.

Riat would provide a primary assist on the Eagles 7th goal of the game, and also recorded an assist on his brothers first goal of the preseason, late in the third period, to make the score 9-0.

Geneve-Servette would hold on for the 9-2 win. Damien Riat had a goal and two assists in the game.

Geneve-Servette is back in action later this week when they host Capitals’ defensive prospect Tobias Geuisser and EV Zug.
