Siegenthaler, Kempny Benched; Fehervary, Gudas In; Boyd Out, Pinho In; Backstrom Out: Line Changes For Game 3

Trailing 2-0 in their first round best-of-seven series with the New York Islanders, Capitals head coach Todd Reirden felt it was time to make some changes with his starting lineup.

On the backend, Michal Kempny and Jonas Siegenthaler were benched and replaced with Radko Gudas and Martin Fehervary.

Brian Pinho replaced Travis Boyd. This was Pinho’s NHL debut.

While I agree that the third line wasn’t too effective in games 1 and 2. You left line 2 the same which allowed 4 of the 5 goals in game 2? Line 4 hasn’t done that great either, swapping one person on the offensive side isn’t going to change the offense.
