The Washington Capitals’ Tom Wilson met with the media following the Capitals practice on Thursday. He was asked about the hit levied on Nicklas Backstrom by Anders Lee, and the team’s mindset going into Game 2.

Wilson went after Anders Lee immediately following the hit on Backstrom, and the two dropped the gloves.

Backstrom would leave the game and has subsequently been ruled out for Game 2 of the series by head coach Todd Reirden, saying “he is in protocol.”

Game 2 is set for Friday night at 8:00 p.m. ET.
